Marvel has released a 15 sneak peek of the first theatrical trailer for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Normally trailer previews drive me insane (and Marvel isn’t exactly helping out the situation by adding those damn captions) but the footage on display here is really quite impressive and I can’t wait to see the whole thing later on tonight. Part of Marvel’s phase two slate, the film is based on the comics of the same name and focuses on a team of superhumans and extraterrestrials dedicated to the safeguarding of the Milky Way Galaxy. Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord), Lee Pace (Basil Sandhurst a.k.a. “The Controller”), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), David Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Michael Rooker (Yondu), John C. Reilly, Ophelia Lovibond, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Benicio Del Toro, and Glenn Close star. Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to hit theaters August 1, 2014.
